The studio
A small studio with a long attention span.
Quantum Quill Technologies is an independent software development company based in Soho, London — founded in 2024 to do a simple thing well: build software for businesses, and stand behind it.
The name says most of it. The quill stands for the part of our work we care about most — writing. Good software is written, not assembled: every line is a sentence someone else will have to read, reason about and live with. We write carefully.
The quantum part is the other half of the temperament — an interest in what’s genuinely new, held in check by an engineer’s scepticism. We follow the field closely and adopt new tools when they earn their place, not when they trend.
We work with a small number of clients at a time, mostly on business and domestic software: the platforms companies sell through, and the internal tools they run on. Some engagements are eight weeks; the ones we’re proudest of have run for years.
We are deliberately small, and intend to stay that way. No account managers, no handoffs between departments — the people who scope your project are the people who build and maintain it.
A short history
-
May 2024
Incorporated in London
Quantum Quill Technologies Ltd is registered in England and Wales and takes a desk in Soho — a neighbourhood that has always sold words and pictures.

First long engagements
The studio settles into its rhythm: a small number of clients, internal tools and integrations, retainers rather than handovers.

Today
Small, on purpose
Still a studio you can fit around one table — taking on a handful of new projects a year, and keeping every promise deliberately modest.
What we value
Candour
If an idea won’t work, or doesn’t need custom software at all, we say so before you spend money on it.
Craft
Readable code, honest estimates, documentation a successor could pick up cold.
Continuity
We prefer clients we can grow with. Software improves most in its second and third year — we plan for that.
Sound like a fit?
We take on a handful of new engagements a year. The best first step is a short note about what you’re trying to do.
